ABP Referral Scheme - Earn £500 for your centre

Earn £500 For Your Centre

Do you already work for an active* ABP Approved Centre?

If the answer is yes you can recommend a new centre to ABP by using the ABP Centre Referral form and if based on your lead they go on to become an approved centre and register students we will credit your centre’s account £500.

All you need to do is complete the ABP Centre Referral form and email it to marketing@abp.org.uk This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it    and we will do the rest.

ABP Privacy Policy: As with all ABP data, we shall not pass on any of the details of the recommended names to any third party.

*The centre must have registered students with ABP in the last 12 months to be classed as active.

If you work for a training provider and are not accredited with ABP take the first steps by completing and submitting the Accreditation Application Form.

ABP support for Apprenticeships



The Association of Business Practitioners (ABP) is a not-for-profit UK awarding organisation which develops and accredits business related, professional qualifications, from short courses to postgraduate diplomas, delivered through accredited colleges.  We at ABP support young people’s careers and fully back the apprenticeship scheme which has enabled us to help develop an apprentice’s career.

The apprentice Raheem Charles has been working with ABP since the 31st of October.  He has quickly settled in and contributed significantly to the running of the company. ABP is delighted to have Raheem as part of the team and will continue to invest in his development.

Raheem says ‘My apprenticeship process began at South London Business (SLB).  After a month I had an interview with ABP were I was made to feel part of the team straight away. To help me further progress and gain a full experience of the work environment the staff have given me a variety of tasks to do which has helped me gain a greater  insight into the opportunities for my business career. These have ranged from developing social media campaigns utilising Facebook and ABP’s blog, research for publicising our new Islamic Finance Qualifications, researching international business development opportunities, database management, customer relationship marketing and budgeting.’

Ofqual Recognition for our Islamic Finance Qualifications

We are pleased to announce the recent recognition of our newly developed Islamic Finance programmes by Ofqual, a UK Government department with responsibility for the regulation of qualifications.

If you represent a centre take the first step in offering the Islamic Finance qualifications by completing and submitting the ABP Application Form.

Qualifications

  • Level 7 Certificate in the Essentials of Islamic Finance and Banking
  • Level 6 Diploma in Applied Finance and Banking
  • Level 5 Certificate in the Concepts of Islamic Finance and Banking

These three new qualifications cover the principles and applications of Islamic and Sharia compliant finance and banking.

These qualifications test learning from level 5 to level 7 on the Ofqual QCF.

Benefits

  • Accessible and flexible introduction to Islamic Finance and Banking – Level 7 & 5

  • Enables development of a financial manager’s knowledge and abilities in terms of the application of the foundation principles of Islamic Finance and Banking – Level 6

  • Progression routes onto the ABP Postgraduate Diploma in International Finance Management. Furthermore, UK university progression routes onto Masters and MBAs are currently being negotiated.

Programme Content

The Islamic Finance programmes are work-related and have been developed with the needs of today’s employers in mind.

The Level 5 Certificate in the Concepts of Islamic Finance and Banking and the Level 7 Certificate in the Essentials of Islamic Finance and Banking cover the foundation principles of finance and banking in this context, with the “Essentials” qualification looking for more detailed understanding from the candidate. This level 7 “Essentials” qualification is also an optional component in the ABP Postgraduate Diplomas in International Finance Management.

The Level 6 Diploma in Applied Islamic Finance and Banking comprises of one of the foundation modules plus a unique module considering the application of this strand of finance.

New suite of Ofqual-regulated Postgraduate Diplomas in IT

Through ABP’s partnership agreement with ABE several more ABP qualifications are now on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications. Ofqual is a UK Government department responsible for regulating qualifications. Ofqual recognition underpins our programmes’ quality and credibility within the global learning marketplace.

The latest Ofqual-regulated ABP Postgraduate Diplomas and Extended Postgraduate Diplomas include the following IT-related subjects:
These programmes appear on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications under the general title of: ABE Level 7. Please note the the ABE Level 7 title must be used on CAS letters and Student Visa applications (Tier 4).

New Level 7 Qualifications Area

Due to feedback we have developed a new Level 7 Qualifications area for the ABP website.

Background

ABP Level 7 training courses give practising or potential senior managers and leader’s critical leadership and managements skills to succeed in their chosen industry.

Furthermore, the entire range of leadership and management training courses developed by ABP are in line with the QCF guidance and regulations applicable to qualifications regulated by Ofqual, the government regulator of qualifications and assessments.

ABP to attend StudyWorld London 2011

ABP will be on stand 36 at StudyWorld London, 5-7 September, to exhibit to over 850 study abroad professionals from more than 60 countries.

The event takes place at the Hilton Metropole hotel. It connects education providers, study abroad agents and service providers and it is recognised as one of the leading forums of its kind.

As in previous years, we will be sharing a stand with our sister organisation the Association of Business Executives.

News for Centres: QAA / ISI Deadline 9th September

The UKBA has announced that the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) will extend their activities to cover the UK's privately funded providers in line with its commitment that all sponsors will be inspected or reviewed by one of the publicly recognised bodies by the end of 2012.

UK colleges, hereby known as sponsors, require an educational oversight review by the QAA or ISI. Sponsors seeking an educational oversight review by the end of 2012 must have submitted an application by 9 September 2011.

A current sponsor who has not had a satisfactory review and who does not apply by the 9 September will lose the ability to issue new confirmations of acceptance for studies (CASs).

ABP opens South Asia regional office

ABP is pleased to announce the opening of a new regional office in Kerala, Southern India.

This is in response to growing worldwide interest in ABP qualifications with an increasing number of overseas centres wishing to run programmes such as our postgraduate diplomas which offer students high quality, affordable, recognised qualifications with advantageous university progression routes.

The ABP South Asia regional office will enable us to offer a more local service to centres in the region interested in becoming accredited as well as those currently offering our programmes.
